Tiananmen Square (Beijing)
Encompassing 100 acres, Tiananmen Square is the largest public square in
the world. The atmosphere can be deceptively unhurried and jovial until you see the
ever-present military guards walking through. Overlooking Tiananmen Square is this Chinese
soldier, standing perfectly straight, juxtaposed with a portrait of Mao Zedong. Together
they form the quintessential picture of The People’s Republic of China.
